It’s been a while since I’ve posted something (for shame) and I hope to rectify that soon. In the interim, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to post this classic (and oh so true)…

Sharing Is Caring
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, today I’ll be releasing my first free icon pack, which are available for download here. I had a great time dreaming up these little darlings and hope you’ll enjoy them too!

Fonts In Use
Fonts in Use, a new blog by designers Sam Berlow, Stephen Coles, and Nick Sherman, which catalogs and analyzes typography found in designs all over the world. From movie posters & signage to a butcher shop tag… it’s quite a typeaholic resource heaven.

Paris vs. New York

Paris based graphic designer Vahram Muratyan has created a series of amusing illustrations depicting the cultural differences between Paris and New York.

The blog Paris vs New York, a tally of two cities features a comically designed portrayal of each city as measured in a brilliant tally of cliches, details and contradictions. Of course, my ultimate favorite of the collection so far is the one below – Si magnifique!

Concept Sharing with Clients? Use Prevue.it
I rarely come across an online tool which I use so often and find so helpful that I would actually blog about it, but here we are. So chuck Skitch or any other online sharing tool you’re using and check out Prevue.it.

The application is a free and simple white-label tool for design professionals to upload and share concept work either internally, or with clients. Specifically, the tool allows users to upload website concepts (foregrounds, and repeating backgrounds) and view as if they were coded – although the tool also works extremely well for individual image sharing.
Amongst various other features – users are able to group, annotate, drag and drop their work – then share individual or grouped concepts with others.
So if you need an invite, just give me a shout out, I have 2 more to spare!
Beautiful Poster, Worthy Cause

I’ve been a fan of The Heads of State’s travel poster series for some time, but more recently they’ve released this beautifully minimalist poster to help raise money and awareness for the clean up efforts in the gulf. Fifty percent of the profits ($20 per poster) will be donated to Oceana, the largest organization solely focused on protecting the world’s oceans. A worthy goal with a stylish purchase – what’s not to lose.
Get Concentrating
Great little tool to help you Get Concentrating by eliminating everyday distractions, helping you…um, what’s that…OH. Wait, where was I? Oh, yeah, maybe I should go ahead and download this first. That is all.
Mr W.
Every once in a while I come across something that just makes me smile. Tonight it was the following video advert for the German energy firm, Epuron. It’s definitely worth watching.
Design Police

Stash away those red pens – the Design Police have put together the utltimate Visual Enforcement Kit to help frustrated graphic designers “bring bad design to justice.”
I love this idea, I just wish they came as stickers too.
Mr. Burton’s Rabbit Hole
I’m a big fan of the art of paper cuts and much more so of Tim Burton, so when I came across this beautifully crafted video by UnitedFakes I knew I was smitten.
Mr.Burton’s Rabbit Hole, as it’s so aptly named, was created for a seasonal promo of Tim Burton’s films on a Dutch on-demand TV channel.
Phonofone II

Yes, it’s $500, and few of us have that kind of cash to splash on an iPod speaker, but isn’t it a beauty? The pocket-sized (well, almost) Phonofone II is brilliantly engineered, too – sculpted out of ceramic this speaker relies on good ol fashioned amplification- not electricity.
According to the product website, “Although it is not intended to be used as home stereo system, it is perfect for a studio, next to the bed, or for a dinner party,” and I’d have to agree.
Helvetica Playing Cards
Looking to stylize your poker night? Look no further than this beautiful “Swiss-style” deck by @uberryan.

Designed with both the typophile and card player in mind, Helveticards are the beautiful, usable alternative to the traditional deck of cards that both Vignelli and Brunson would be happy to deal.
100% Human Being
I came across this Human Being shirt from the UK based Origin68, a while back and thought it a perfect fit for my first content related post. The icons, the ingredients, clever type — makes this T uber geeky cool.
